In many ways I consider myself a visual ethnologist where images are supported by research and data, often setting the context for information.
If the primary purpose of art is to enhance our awareness of the true nature that surrounds us, ‘by holding a lens up to the world through which we see a refracted reality that is normally concealed from our everyday perception,’ then the effectiveness of my photographs will raise questions and consciousness about farm, land, culture and place and give a visibility and voice to people in country Victoria.
At present I am continuing to document and photograph country identities and their stories. I am always on the look out for amazing characters.
