Creative Country Women

 

Embedding myself within the experiences of creative country women, I use photography and story to explore the meaning and value of creative expression and how this manifests itself for a selection of women in country Victoria.

 

The participating women are inspired by their surrounding landscape. It inspires them to create. In most cases they intuitively use a range of readily available mediums, often gleaned and improvised from their surroundings to make creative works that tell stories and teach. 

 

For country women creativity is an essential means of providing well-being and happiness in an unpredictable and often harsh environment.
